Snowy Graveyard
Photos of a snowy graveyard with lots of candles I took in late December.
It was so peaceful and quiet the night at the graveyard. The candles made the grave glow and the sky was in a pale blue light. So very beautiful...

I do not understand the practice of lighting candles on a gravesite. Can anyone tell me if this is a ethnic practice or Catholic?I recently saw a cemetary in Toronto lit up and had never seen this anywhere else I have visited.It seems to me to be somewhat of a primitive idea but as I do not know the rationale behind it would like to know.
